Thirty to forty years ago, researchers and fitness professionals believed that in order to burn fat, you had to engage in long, drawn-out cardiorespiratory (cardio) workouts.It’s easy to think that if you do more cardio = you burn more fat. Unfortunately recent research shows the opposite. You don’t burn more fat by over-using the treadmill or exercise bike. You don’t get a leaner body by jogging for one hour. What actually burns more fat is interval training. That simply means you have to alternate easy repetitions with difficult repetitions. Many people believe that if they eat before a workout, all they will burn are the calories that they have just taken in.Think of it this way: the body is like a furnace that can burn fat continuously. But what does a furnace need? Fuel! A furnace would be useless with fuel. You need to feed the body to burn off the extra fat. Without fat, the body will send out an emergency signal to the brain and you will feel faint, light-headed and you may even pass out while working out!

Starving yourself is not going to help you lose fat. That’s why I highly encourage that you not only eat before a workout but you also eat after a workout.
